Bekom mask (Cameroon) Wood. H. 57 cm Important anthropomorphic crest mask probably a notable with characteristic features, swollen cheeks, protruding nose. The openwork headdress is traditionally carved with the motif of the spider symbol of wisdom. Provenance : - Maître Loudmer sale, June 30, 1988, lot 181, reproduced on page 96 of the catalog.
