BIOGRAPHY

Jean CAMPA was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine on September 18, 1933.

His first works, in 1957, were figurative. He met a number of artists, in particular Gérard Schneider, with whom he became close friends, but also Etienne Martin, Villeri, René Char, André Verdet and Consuelo de Saint-Exupéry, all of whom changed his approach to form and space.

After a short figurative period, Jean Campa turned to abstract forms. From polyester to aluminum, bronze and welded iron, his sculpture composes a resonant, rhythmic and natural music.

In addition to numerous solo exhibitions, both in France and abroad, Jean Campa takes part in many art fairs, in particular "Jeune sculpture" and the "Salon de mai". His monumental works have been exhibited in Paris, Marly-le-Roi, Sèvres and Marseille.

The museums of Dunkirk and Saint-Omer have acquired his works.
