Valérie Laskier is a French painter born in Paris in 1976. After graduating from the Légion d'Honneur and the Institut Charlemagne, Valérie entered the Institut Pratique du Journalisme in Paris in 2000 and joined a French weekly news magazine. 5 years later, after suffering from cancer, she spent 2 years in a wheelchair, but still retained her artistic spirit, writing a slam that was sold to benefit the Paris Committee of the Ligue contre le cancer. In 2019, driven by her desire to share her experience with sick patients, she obtained her DU Patient Experte en cancérologie at the Faculté de Médecine Sorbonne Université. Painting was a revelation in 2021, and she uses matter and color to express her emotions and rebirth.

The Comité de Paris de la Ligue contre le cancer actively fights on all fronts of the disease: by financing fundamental and clinical research, by supporting sufferers and their families, by developing preventive actions and promoting screening, and by defending the interests of patients. By donating 21 of her works to the Paris Committee, which will auction them off to the highest bidder and donor, Valérie Laskier wanted the funds raised to help finance a week-long nautical rally off the coast of Finistère, for teenagers with cancer. Divided among 4 sailboats, the youngsters aged 14 to 17 will challenge each other on the water and on land in a great treasure hunt, punctuated by tests and riddles.

The French hotel chain Hôtels & Préférence will be offering a 2-night gift box in a prestigious establishment to the highest bidder in the auction.
